Calligraphy as a source of joy

I am grateful for calligraphy, for the movements of my hand, and for my mistakes. Beautiful handwriting has made me a better person.

From drawing the first lines to community building

Calligraphy is becoming increasingly popular these days. People are willing to dedicate time to this activity, finding joy in handwriting. Most say that this hobby is enjoyable because it relaxes, calms, and rejuvenates them.

For me, meeting calligraphy was love at first sight. Unfortunately, the sense of achievement did not come so quickly, which dampened my spirits for 1-2 years. When I started to get to know a new journaling method, the Bullet Journal I decided to start practicing beautiful cursive writing again.

I wanted to learn to plan and execute professionally. Meanwhile, I wanted to practice calligraphy unnoticed. With the newly acquired techniques, I could beautify my calendar. I received so many kind compliments and positive feedback from the BuJo community that it motivated me to continue my education. Then I was asked to teach the community members. As an educator, I gladly accepted the task. I was also surprised that my students achieved success right away, and this gave me the momentum to start my business, Calligraphy Solutions.

A wonder in the rushing weekdays

I consider it my mission to preserve the knowledge of our ancestors, to teach beautiful handwriting so that people can find harmony, joy, and a sense of achievement in calligraphy! During the lockdowns caused by COVID, I felt the urge to help people with calligraphy. Within a few weeks, we became hundreds, and within a few months, we became Hungary's largest practicing calligraphy Facebook group. Currently, the group provides inspiration and support for nearly 6000 people in learning calligraphy.

For me, calligraphy is a wonder in these rushing weekdays. The lines on paper represent security in an uncertain world. The scratching sound of my pen takes me on a time travel, and I find myself in the past for a few hours. The time spent on beautiful writing allows for a deep encounter with myself. I understand and get to know myself better.

Making mistakes goes hand in hand with calligraphy. It is a self-awareness opportunity to observe myself and my reactions. Through beautiful writing, I have become more accepting and forgiving of myself. When I make a mistake, I look for the opportunity to learn from it, to see how I can become better through it. I am grateful for calligraphy, for the movements of my hand, and for my mistakes as well. Beautiful handwriting has made me a better person.

Teaching calligraphy

I love teaching beautiful writing even more than calligraphy itself. I feel great satisfaction when, as a result of the advice and tips I give, one of my students starts to put wonderful letters and words on paper.

“One important element of today's fast-paced world is slowing down, achieving a meditative state, which has a positive effect on the whole body and soul. Drawing letters is an excellent program for this, and practicing is always a form of relaxation. I recommend it to anyone who longs for this feeling.” Sz. Hajnalka

The interconnected courses guarantee success. For beginners, free videos (for members of the Joy Calligraphy community on Facebook) and webinars (newsletter for my subscribers) show that writing beautifully is not rocket science. Even one or two hours of practice can bring a sense of achievement and joy. In the group, we often inspire and support each other during challenges to achieve even more perfect and beautiful results.

Calligraphy can be practiced with a variety of tools; it matters how many of the expensive pens and markers you buy until you find the most suitable one. A lot of information about this is also available in the group.
If you are interested in old-fashioned, beautiful handwriting, I encourage you to try your hand at calligraphy.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of letters, in the harmony of words!
